Palm Pre on O2 boxed
Here is a shot I noticed over at Prethinking of the Palm Pre’s O2 packaging. Looks fairly standard as far as pacakging goes for a Palm device. I remember when the Palm Treo Pro appeared in this guise there was a bit of buzz about how well thought out the packaging was. Nice to see it continue.

gareth, i need your help should i get a contract or buy it outright have u any idea how much they are gonna charge for outright??? i cant decide what to do!
At the moment O2 has exclusivity on the Pre so the chances of picking it up unlocked are slim, much like the iPhone was. There are ways of getting it, for example Germany and France will be selling them free from carriers.
If you wait a while we’ll see how the Pre hits the market. If there is a PAYG version would you entertain that on O2? Or do you want to steer clear of O2 altogether?
no im on o2 at the moment so i want to stay with them cause i like them my contract at the moment is only 20 quid a month so was thinking even if i could just buy the phone outrite even unlocked it might be better cause im not tying myself into a 18 month contract then
Does your £20 contract include all you can eat data? The Palm Pre is optimised for online use. If so then buy one outright and slip your sim in, beats paying £45 for 18 months. Or you can pay £100 for a £30 a month contract.
Personally I’m going to wait for an unlocked one and just buy it outright.
yep i get 600 mins 1200 txts and free bolt on which is free internet i use it alot in work these days!!! i think im decided, im going to ring them on friday morning and see how much they are charging to just buy one outright i dont fancy paying 35 quid a month plus 7.34 for a txt bolt on (which i see is only for an additional 500 txts and i will go over that) plus anywhere from 7.50-10 for insurance. i like my £20 quid one it gives me all i need. ps no wonder u buy urs outrite the amount of times u change ur phne ud be paying about £5000 a month in contracts alone if u didnt!!! ope ur well thanks for ur help.
