Hi,

Please help. All the other phones I have had or do have, the old Jas Jar, The Nokia E90, the Samsung Omnia etc enable one to record a telephonic conversation.
For some reason HTC screwed up ( or did the right thing, depending on which was you look at it) on the TouchPro 2 and the other persons voice is very faint.
Can anyone tell me how to make the voice louder

The HTC touch pro is a terrible phone. I had one for about 8 months and i could barely use it. the touch screen becomes extremely non responsive in a very short amount of time which makes it almost impossible to use. i have missed one too many phone calls because of it. i recently got a new one because of the warranty i bought with the phone, that was 2 weeks ago and im already starting to notice a big decrease in processing speed. ITS RIDICULOUS. aesthetically, the phone is a 10, functionally, the phone is a 2 (at best).

Please do not by this phone, buy a blackberry or an iphone. trust me. Anyone on this forum who says that they genuinely enjoy this phone has probably only been using it for under a week. Again, do not buy this phone, do not buy this phone.

Get away from HTC pro. It freezes all the time just like windows boxes and u need to soft reboot it as the switch button does not work. It can be very frustrating When you expect a call, and u just realise that your phone has switched off ... by itself for unknown reason. When you pick up a call, beware not to end it accidentally as your cheek touches the end button on the screen. Its heavy, a nightmare to unlock it if you password protect it. The list of issues I am having with it is endless .

HTC Touch Pro is a joke. My HTC Mogul quit working after a year's worth of light use in August 2009. I stupidly chose to upgrade to the HTC Touch Pro. The first one I had, the keyboard quit working with 6 weeks (unfortunately for me, not in Sprint's 30 trade in period!). I had also had issues with the screen freezing off and on, and not being able to answer calls half the time. Don't even get me started on the camera lag, the not being able to hear who is calling me due to poor ear speaker, etc, etc.

So, I called Sprint, and they replaced it with a "refurbished" model. No battery included, just a phone in a bag in a UPS box. I got my number transferred over to it, got all my info transferred over to the "new" Touch Pro. Within two hours, the phone locked down - completely froze. Tried soft reset - NOTHING. Took the battery out for a few minutes. Resolved the issue temporarily. Within an hour it had done it again. By the sixth lock down in less than 24 hours, the phone stayed that way for 2 hours straight. As I type this, two days in to having the phone, I am now up to eleven different times this phone has froze up.

I called Sprint, asked them to please replace this piece of crap. They so nicely offered to replace it with yet another HTC Touch Pro. I asked them if it was at all possible to replace it with a comparable phone from another manufacturer. The answer? NO. It seems it is their policy that they have to replace a phone at least THREE seperate times before they will even consider replacing it with another brand. So, I wrote to every executive e-mail address I could find. I was finally contacted by a "V.I.P. Analyst" with
"Sprint Executive & Regulatory Services" through my e-mail. She told my wife she's been leaving me voicemails on my phone. Funny, I don't even show a missed call on the phone. Unknown as to the voicemails, because the phone won't unfreeze for long enough for me to check them!

Anyway, my wife explained that I was totally unsatisfied by the Touch Pro, and again asked for it to be replaced with a comparable phone from a different brand, as I need a phone that is reliable for business use. Amazingly, she was told no. She explained, again, that we have been with Sprint for five years, and carry five lines with them, spending an average amount of $4200 a year on their services alone. She told her she could "understand your frustration, but the contract you "signed" says that they are only a service provider and are in no way responsible for the devices." The best they can do is replace it with another Touch Pro, as they have no record of having problems with this device. My wife told her to check some of the internet forums and tech reviews. The response? She can "appreciate that people are blogging about it, but again, Sprint has no known issues with this particular device." Funny, I can read through this one site alone and see that SEVERAL Sprint customers have issues with the Touch Pro.

I'm still trying to get something done through Sprint, as overall, they are a great company to be with. I just can't believe they would be willing to lose a five year customer over a piece of crap like the Touch Pro!

My recommendation on the HTC Touch Pro? STAY AWAY, STAY VERY FAR AWAY!!!

Q1 - You can copy and paste pretty much anywhere one Windows Mobile
Q2 - IE is still Pocket IE. The Touch Pro isn't getting the 6.5 upgrade that included IE 6, you be better looking at the Touch Pro2 for that.

I've avoided these smartphones for long enough because they lack two features I need. Does this one have them?
Q1 can you copy and paste things like text?
Q2 This has Opera browser. I need IE ver 6 or newer to remotely control workstations. 640 x 480 would be minimum resolution. Can this HTC handle?

I realize what I really want is a mini PC but netbooks don't cut it and I don't want to carry a phone and a PDA/PIM type tool.
Comments please.
