HTC Touch Pro review
The big brother of the HTC Diamond has arrived and we are expecting great things. Its been called a brick by many but if this device lives up to expectations it could be the best Windows Mobile device around. When the Diamond was launched we reviewed it and it was not a great experience, since then a couple of Rom upgrades have made it a new experience and a well received device. Let us hope that HTC have this one right straight out the box, lets find out. Read on for the full review.
On the Outside
The phone comes packaged in a box shaped like a pyramid with the top chopped off identical to the HTC Diamond and it really is well packaged and looks very enticing. Inside the box is the phone, wired headset, spare stylus, CD ROM with a user manual and extra software, battery, mains charger and a USB cable, all neatly tucked away inside.
The phone feels quite heavy but well made with a lovely quality feel. It is very similar in size to the Nokia N95 and you can see some comparison photographs here.
Looking at the phone from the outside, the front is totally flat it has 4 buttons . Home, back, phone send and end keys and the additional centre button which also works as a virtual scroll wheel for zooming in Opera. From this perspective the phone is identical to the Diamond.
The bottom of the phone has the mini USB connector for charging the device and using the supplied HTC Headset. The bottom right side of the unit gives access to the stylus which is magnetic and there is also a small button to perform the Windows Mobile soft reset. The top of the phone has the on off push button. The sides of the phone are blank on the right side and the volume up and down buttons on the left hand side. The back of the phone houses the 3.2 mega pixel auto focus camera and flash. Again the back cover is angled like the Diamond however on this phone the case has a matt finish rather than the glossy black finger print magnet that the Diamond has.
I have done a video look at the device and software that you can watch below:-
Where it differs from the Diamond
The slide out QWERTY keyboard, is where this device is at, Windows Mobile users are split, some like them, some hate them, but this is by the far the best one I have used. It springs open with the slightest touch however that does not mean it is loose or comes apart when your holding it, oh no, HTC have done some trickery to make this easy to open but only when you want it too.
Once open the screen automatically flips to landscape mode in under a second, very smooth and much quicker than any device I have seen before. The keys on the keyboard are individual keys, not a solid rubber mat like we have seen on other devices and because of the fast processor and heaps of RAM there is no key lag to be found. Its easy to type on too, all in all a great keyboard for such a small device.
TouchFlo 3D Rocks!!! g>
When we looked at the HTC Diamond the TouchFlo 3D was a major disappointment, on this device however it is now a major plus, right out the box it is fast and smooth and really enhances the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system. Finger scrolling, flicks and swipes are all easily done and work 100% of the time, it is now a brilliant addition to the handset, HTC have done a great job refining this software.
Software
Nothing really new inside the Touch Pro compared to the Diamond except the addition of an on screen tilt sensor calibrating tool. Not sure why you would need this but it is there if you ever do. Apart from that you have the usual Windows Mobile goodness like Windows Live, Google Maps, Office, Opera 9.5 and the HTC Youtube application which I found very slow to use, even over WiFi.
The GPS worked very well with TomTom and Google Maps locking very quickly and both looked fantastic on the VGA screen.
The battery life is so much better than the Diamond, it is a bigger capacity battery and it shows, other differences are the increase in the amount of Ram but unfortunately only 512MB storage of which the OS takes up quite a lot of. Also included is a TV Out feature unfortunately HTC have not included a cable for this so its a bit useless.
The device has two cameras, a front facing camera for video calls over 3G and a rear camera which is a 3.2 Mega Pixel lens with a flash. Picture quality seemed solid with good colours.
Conclusion
HTC have taken the flack on the Diamond, learned from it and released a very solid, well performing device, the TouchFlo 3D works perfectly now and enhances the device greatly. Added to that, high quality hardware, a great slide out keyboard, lots of Ram and this device is a winner. Its a work horse with a lot of power and runs as smooth as silk. I cannot think of many negatives, it has all the features, good battery life, good camera, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.

Great review Chris! Sorely tempted to take the plunge, only after the Treo Pro is reported upon of course.
What program would you need to use to take advantage of the front facing camera for video calls?
The software is built into the device and is part of the phone, it can only be used if your network supports that particular part of the 3G UMTS standards, currently most European networks offer this but it is not available in the US

Interesting…and bound to replace my Tilt when it comes.
With a face of plastic not glass, like the iPhone, it will still need a screen protector. What will that screen protector do to the usability of TouchFlo?
Hey Chris, great review !! (and one of the first ones too).
I had a couple of questions (if you could comment on them):
Since you have both the Touch Pro and the iPhone:
- How do the displays compare on both? How about in the browsers? (Opera vs. Safari) and the clearness of the text in websites at full page mode.
- How do you compare the battery life on both? With 3G and Wifi on during the test..
- How do the 3G speeds compare on both iPhone 3G and Touch Pro?
Thanks,
Mohammad
You told that the phone contains a port for T.V out but not cable… so i understand that the company will manufacture the cable wire for T.V out and sell it individually
Thanx
Mohammad, The display for me is much sharper on the Touch Pro but not as enjoyable to use, The iPhones screen for me is the perfect size for productivity with Touch, having said that, this is why the Touch Po also has the hardware keyboard.
Too early to be 100% on the battery life but so far the Pro has performed really well and better than the iPhone
3G speeds tests I have done give similar results but this is so network dependant, The Touch Pro is capable of much faster speeds up and down than the iPhone so in the right area and with a supported network it would be better

Does this Touch Pro have a 3.5mm jack for headphones???
If it does, it would have everything that’s missing from the iPhone and BB Bold. Namely what I find missing in the others are: QWERTY keyboard (iphone), HTML email (BB), good browser (BB), replacable battery (iPhone), ability to run multiple programs (iPhone), video (iPhone).
It does not have a 3.5mm jack, it uses HTC’s mini USB connector, you can get an adaptor to give you a 3.5mm jack but not as standard

Hi i’ve had one for 2 weeks and certain things are driving me mad! This is my first phone like this so maby it’s me??
Battery life, having to charge every 4-6 hrs, is this normal as i’ve hardly used the internet mainly e-mails. On that subject i keep getting a message telling me incoming and to verify password etc, this is all day and happens when i’m in the middle of using phone so cuts out what i’m looking at or doing. Then nothing comes in!
Also the scroll i can’t seem to stop if i’m looking at contacts or e-mails it just keeps going then when i do stop it, never on the one i want and it opens the one it stops at! Any ideas what i’m doing wrong? I looked at the I phone but decided this was better not so sure now.

Hi Chris. You didn’t mention anything about the GPS System in the device. As far as i know, it only has the GPS Antena and it doesn’t have any related softwares in them. Can you please tell us more about this issue and where can we find the maps for the different contries?
The device that I had did not come with any GPS software apart from google maps pre installed, obviously this will not give you turn by turn navigation. You can get various software for the device like TomTom and Co Pilot however these would be all extra costs on top of the Touch Pro. As standard no turn by turn software.
from what i’m reading it appears you can’t use the head set while you’re charging in the car.. if that’s the case, that SUX
Can’t wait for this to hit the US. As for GPS Software, take a look at Amaze, at http://www.amazegps.com. This is a free (for now) turn by turn GPS application. I currently use it on my HTC Touch.
I’ve been holding off upgrading my HTC-Apache and I think this might be the one. Thanks for the review.
@Lorraine: Most likely you’ve setup e-mail to check for new messages every x minutes and you haven’t saved your password. This would cause the phone to prompt for your password each time it checks the server for new mail. I have mine set to check only when I tell it to. This should also help the battery life.

Yeah actually that is pretty good, using devices like these I would recommend getting into the habit of charging it every night
I’m with Mark, I’d love to know what takes Orange so long when they could sell a bucket load of these by being early to market!

I have a Treo 700wx with Windows Mobile 5. I’m curious to know if the HTC Pro with Windows Mobile 6 has improved the functionality much. For instance, can you surf the internet while talking on the phone? Does the audio/video player (probably Windows Media Player) save your location in a song or video for the next time you play it (on mine it doesn’t)? Does the HTC Pro have picture text messages? Sprint TV? Can you listen to stereo audio (songs, etc.) through the bluetooth headset? Is the operating system more stable (Treo/WinMob 5 crashes constantly)?
This phone sounds pretty cool and I like my Sprint plan. I’m just a litle sour on Windows Mobile after the 700wx and would like to know that things are much better now. Or is the iPhone just far superior? I’ll probably be looking to get a new phone in late December (maybe the HTC Touch HD will be in the U.S. by then).
Thanks in advance for all your thoughts.
Just got my hands on a Touch Pro from Vodafone on a consumer contract. Now this is quite a step up from my ancient Nokia with Thai lettering on it I bought for £20 on an island while travelling…. but I noticed the mechanism for the slide out keyboard is quite flimsy – e.g. when you use the buttons it can jiggle around a bit. Can you remember this on your review phone?
Looking forward to getting into the 21st century!
I haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere: the keyboard on the HTC-Apache lights up from underneath. Does the Touch Pro’s keyboard also light up?

this was one of my complaints with 838pro.
Can you load skype on it & then skype over a wifi network when you’re not on your phone’s network?
Also, does it have phone as modem?
Tx a million for the info!
Non-standard Connectors?
Unfortunately the “mini-USB” does not look like a standard connector. Pitty that HTC has not (yet) seen the light and put in standard mini-USB and 3.5mm jack(s) in the device. Special cables/converters are imho. annoyances and should be avoided “at all cost” …
But otherwise it looks like a great device. Great that a standard micro-SD slot is provided (sincerely hope it’s indeed SDHC)…
Orange UK WILL NOT be releasing this handset! Much to my great annoyance and frustration. Was advised to take a pac code and run.
Battery life is not as i had expected. just been using the HTC touch pro for the last 10 days and with moderate use i have to recharge every 8 hours. i was using a p990 before this one and i do really feel the difference doing the same things (email, browsing, office, calls…). Not a real happy user..

hi all
Have you heard anything about the HTC G1 ANDROID PHONE?

Chris, when watching a video or pictures can you tilt sideways for widescreen view?
I don’t have the device anymore but it does have a tilt sensor in it so yes it should. Out of the box it did not work in all programs but there are software add ons that will enable the tilt sensor to work with all software
Thank you, is there a recommended site for any or all software or add ons for the pro?
Chris, I currently have a blackberry and one of the features I like the best is being able to add email clients and when i receive emails, I am notified with tone and/or led indicator. Am i referring to POP? Is the pro capable of the same feature? I’d hate to have to go into my email accounts only to find out there are no emails!lol thanks chris
Johnny yeah you can set Windows Mobile to alert you in many different ways and with add on software it will make your tea if the correct email came in lol. As for software resources, xda-developers is a site you need to visit here is a link to their forums for the Touch Pro, a fantastic resource for everything http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=438
I checked out the forum site and its pretty scary. Are all of these issues from people that are not too pda or pc literate or are there really alot of issues with this phone? Also, I’m in the US and eta for sprint release is Nov 2nd, seems as most of the forum users are abroad and have the european version? It gets a guy thinking too much on a purchase of this magnitude, of course the estimated price in US is $599 minus $150 upgrade credit minus $50 instant credit minus $100 rebate sets the total at $299 and after selling current mint blackberry pearl on ebay, my estimated cost for this htc pro is around $100-$125, so I guess I cant go wrong? Thanks for all the quick replies!
Chris. i ws very interested in the touch pro but battery seems to be a problem. My blackberry lasts me atleast 4 days and that is with emails, calls , photos and playing games. Do you think it is worth keeping the blackberry (8310) and not upgrading to the touch pro. Please comment urgently as upgrade is due in 5 days. honest opinions please
Simon
Simon, honestly battery life will be a great concern to you, Windows Mobile phones tend to eat up battery life and if you have one you must get into the mindset of charging everyday. Also remember that this phone has HSDPA ie fast data connection and that also consumes battery life but that can be set to only use GPRS like your Blackberry. On the positive side, in my opinion if you use all the features that this phone can offer it will make the Blackberry seem lame. Just my opinion but at the end of the day you have to decide if you can get used to the charging.
A bit disappointed with the device due to the following issues
1. word completion is not activated in block recognizer input mode
2.. Some times the phone goes into mute mode. I think it is when i disconnect from the bluetooth head set. It fixes itself after a reboot.
3. Re boot takes a long time
4. some times the sound quality is poor. I have had a few callers complaining that they couldn’t hear me well.
Hope HTC fixes these issues with a bios upgrade
Experienced issue 2 every morning, nothing to do with blue tooth connection. Realised that if an alarm/missed call/received sms is not addressed within a time frame, then the phone will go into mute. Afterwhich if a call comes in, there will be no ringtone, if you answer the call, can hear nothing from the speakers and the mic also not working.Even if try to play music, also no sound. Went back normal after a soft reset.
What are you talking about ??? front facing camera does not exist.
The flip when keyboard slides out is over a second.
TF3D is nice, but not smooth all the time…..I can surely live without it.
Battery life is crap crap crap. Can’t go a day with light use.
Phone heats up like a stove with just XM streaming for 20 minutes.
Major design flaw, the stylus switch FALLS OFF. I had two when Sprint released this device, first fell off after 4 days, second RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX!!!!
That switch activates the screen, and notes when in call, the device freaks out without the switch randomly.
I’ve seen dozens of people say the same thing; the POS switch is about a millimeter in size and just crap.
After the second TP I returned both and went to Treo 800; loving it so far.
how is this compared to the HTC Mogul?
I have been using the HTC Touch Pro for about 4 weeks now. I like the phone in general and some of the multimedia gadgets are nice. But the biggest drawback is the battery life. My best day so far under normal use is about 9 hours. Period. My worst day, when I was in a sparse coverage area, it was dead (not beeping) just dead in about 5 hours. Funny; it didn’t even warn me. No beeps, just a very, very tiny little exclamation on the battery indicator.
The touch screen is good sometimes, but just like the Windows, it gets stuck (or confused) and it just fails to respond. So you press again. And yet again. And sometimes it works and sometimes not.
E-mail works fine sometimes, but the Direct Push fails regularly and for no reason stops synchronizing. I called the company and they said reset the phone. I do and it works again… then it stops. Again no reason. Oh wait. Now it’s working again. Ooop… now it;s stopped again. No fiddling will fix it. I just has to correct itself.
The camera is excellent. Hands down, the best camera phone camera I have ever had. Pictures are crisp clear and have good color.
Internet speed is excellent. The EV-DO Rev 1 is mighty quick. Using You Tube is as good as using my laptop.
Call sound is a little weak. Kind of a can sound.
Wi-Fi has no issue. And same for the bluetooth.
All-in-all, I like the phone if it just was able to actually work for a whole workday without having to charge it. I find myself plugging it in any chance I get because I can’t trust the battery to last for more than a few hours.

I am thinking about upgrading from a Palm Treo to the Pro. Is the Pro smaller and lighter than the Treo? I don’t like the bulk of the Treo. Also, can you give me a comparison between the two? I hate the screen, to small for internet searching on the Treo. I need this to sync for contacts, email, and calendar. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Though the Touch Pro is loaded with features, there is on feature that is about to land this device in the trash…try placing the phone in a hip holster….have someone call you…move your hips….the incoming call activates the touch screen (even when locked) and the slightest movement will answer the call (without you knowing if you happen to have on low volume or vibrate). Now the person on the other end can hear whatever conversation you are having…not good if it happens to be a client listening in while you discuss another client…I have contacted HTC and they say there is no method to disable this feature or alter the touch screen behavior related to incoming calls….If anyone has a tip that HTC could not offer, I am all ears…

One problem if you upgrade from the Treo or a similar device: there is no desktop software included. Well, they helpfully include a trial version of Outlook, but if you expect to be able to sync the device to your PC, you’ll have to shell out another 110 bucks to MSFT for that privilege. Apparently, the two Windows OS licenses required in that transfer aren’t a large enough revenue stream for the largest software company in the world.
I’ve had problems with freezing, and being unable to answer calls; the phone won’t let me if I’m online.
I’m not having fun. It restarts if I’m online and receive a call while browsing.
I pull the battery about 4 times a week on average.
I’m disapointed…
I love the phone and all of it’s features are smooth and impresive.
Cons:
- Battery life sucks! (some say it is good for a phone with so many features. I say, not good enough)
- Apps cost too much. 19.99 to download a texas hold’em game. Most every thing is between 13.99 – 19.99. Highway Robbery for downloading time wasters.
I’m doing every thing I can to convince myself to keep this thing. I’ve never been so dissatisfied with a smartphone in all my days.
-Sluggish interface wrapped overtop of Windows Mobile 6.1
-Random hangs on application changes
-Yet another *&^@#$ proprietary charging mechanism which is a USB adapter that houses the audio and tv-out jacks.
-That same jack requires a separate (incl.) cable for switching between computer sync/charge and AC charge (too many parts!)
-Sliding QWERTY keyboard feels like it’s going to break
-Stylus mounted on bottom of device – falls out (where were the engineers?)
-Cannot send SMTP emails due to a known Microsoft flaw that hasn’t been fixed
-Near impossible to txt while driving (okay – that’s not necessarily a bad thing!)
-Call quality is tinny
-Camera shutter is slow responding, missing all the action. No setting to adjust.
-Weather app uses preloaded cities – user confined to only those listed
-and the absolute worst feature – the battery life is ABYSMAL!!!! I have to keep this thing charged whenever I’m not using it to hope it has enough juice for me to live my life… totally unacceptable if you’re always on the go.
About the only thing that I have been happy with so far with this is the fact that I finally a phone that comes with a decent holster. If it wasn’t for the battery – I could almost overlook everything else… but I can’t and I really think I’ll be bringing this back after 2 solid weeks of use.
-An Unhappy HTC Touch Pro Owner
I just got this phone through Alltel, and I love it!! There was a slight learning curve, it took me a week to feel comfortable using it (and stop accidentally hanging up on people). But after that, its a breeze!
The first few days, the battery life wasn’t that good…but I was using the phone non stop(setting it up, adding contact details, setting up my fav’s on Opera, etc). Since then, I have been using it regularly and only find myself down to one bar when I am going to bed…so I plug it in and its ready to go in the morning.
I love the fact that this phone allows me to get all my email in one place (Hotmail, Yahoo, and work). It synch’s with my outlook calendar, and makes keeping everything in one place so much easier. The memory is fantastic…I don’t have to delete text messages because of “full box” messages.
I have used the phone in direct sunlight, and didn’t have a problem seeing.
Alltel’s design is much better than the other one I have seen.
The camera is also PERFECT! It takes better pictures that I expected after reading the reviews.
As far as the negatives? I don’t like the holster Alltel gives you, so I am looking to get a new one. That’s it…not so bad. Once I got the settings adjusted (made sure the programs exited when I pressed the “x” button), and got the personalization down, it does exactly what I want it to.
I love this phone, and would recommend it to anyone looking to get a new Smart Phone.
Can you use yahoo IM on this phone?
hiiii
i wantd to knw if there is anyway with which we can disable conversational mode for messages so that messages appear as individual ones and not conversations.
your help will be appreciated
thanks…
I have had this phone for 3 weeks and I’m taking this piece of crap back honestly the worst phone I have ever used and I buy a new phone every 6 months almost!!!! here is why
1.battery is completely useless I have to charge every 4 to 6 hours and thats if I’m lucky seriously
2. I go to reply to a text and I then flip the keyboard out and 60% of the time it goes to some random screen and quits the text message!! Very annoying if you text alot.
3. camera takes forever to take the picture the person literally has to sit still for 5-7 seconds till the picture is taken!!! (pointless)
4. The thing locks up constantly
5. the touch is very unaccurate and choppy
6. speakers are horrible the outside speaker is quiet and the reciever speaker is quiet also!
7. stylus falls out easy
etc……………..countless problems with this phone
Basically this phone does everything but make a good phone if you know what I mean. I am extremely unhappy with this product.
my phone’s screen got a pressure crack within the first 2 weeks. Best phone i ever had for the first 2weeks though
I agree with Brian Bernard,
I’ve had mine for three weeks and it is, to be quite frank, utterly rubbish.
In addition to Brian’s comments I’d also add that;
Its not good for surfing the net
It doesn’t work properly with manufacturers factory fitted car prep (Audi MMI in my case)
It changes settings when it feels like it
It goes to screens that you didn’t ask it to
Questionable build quality
It cuts off calls in mid conversation
If you are trying to enter a conf call, the keyboard option when you have a live call blacks out before you can put the PIN in – FFS it knows you’re using the keyboard for something
I have actually decided to send mine back to Vodafone and get a refund as its basically not fit for purpose. It is utter shite. I wouldn’t recommend anyone buys this product, particulalry with thier own money. I was saved that as it is company supplied but that doesn’t change the fact that it is garbage.
It is actually beyond me how the guys at HTC sat there and thought to themselves this is a good product.
Brian and SHB
Can I ask one question, what was your previous device, is this your first Windows Mobile handset, would be interesting to know
Chris
Yes it is.
Used Nokia handsets for the last 10 years.
Last one was Nokia 6230i
I need some help on resetting the default outlook account. Have emailed from the suport site but no response. I had it synced to my previous employer and have now moved.
I cannot change the domain name for some reason (I can see it but cannot type over it) and I can’t seem to reset it. I don’t want to have to hard reset if it’s not absolutaly necessary.
Anyone have any ideas?
I’m upgrade eligeable w/Sprint Mid atlantic coast US. How long has HTC touch Pro been in market? Seems to me on the street results sound a lot like the “Instinct”. What about this for mobile benefit for moderate user?
My husband is hearing impaired and I have been researching various phones for him. How would you rate the voice sound, clarity and quality of incoming calls with the HTC Touch PRO (we have Verizon as our vendor)? Can the volume, tone and ringer be adjusted easily enough and does it truly make a difference? I believe he would appreciate many of the features, but unless he can readily use the phone for calls it would be of little or no benefit to him.
I really appreciate any information you can provide.
If you are aware of any other smartphones that have good clarity and quality sound please advise.
Hi Pam N,
The quality of the sound on the HTC Touch Pro is poor, I am fortunate enough to not have impaired hearing and it drives me nuts. Both the internal speaker and the external one are poor.
In my opinion, the HTC Touch Pro has way too many faults for me to recommend it to anyone. As I mentioned in my earlier post I am sending it back to Vodafone which will happen tomorrow as I’ve been out of the office for a couple of weeks.

Well, now I am really in a pickle! I wanted to upgrade my daughter’s cell ph to a new smartphone. I have been researching and up to this point, for the most part, negatives I have read, were predominantly aimed at the Verizon version of the HTC Pro. I am do to receive Sprints model any day, in time for my daughters arrival home this weekend, from her college. What now!?! Too much money to just accept the complaints being stated. I wanted to pass of the negative comments as being those biased against the phone for whatever reason, and stay the course for receipt of the phone. I can’t ignore this however, given the quantity of negative reviews as well, the specifics of why.
Any suggestions are welcomed!
Thanks!
I bought it and am really enjoying it! Sprint seems to have done well with the service package supporting all that the phone has to offer. That being said, I have SO MUCH still to learn! Should be interesting how much I will have to help my daughter!
Thanks!
I have a htc pro mobile and recently the home light started flashing. I have done a soft reset and also taken battery off left for a while then restarted it , still comes on then starts to flash. I have looked in the manual and can not find out what to do. Can anyone help.
I own it- bought it in December. I would not buy it again if I had to do it all over.
It is not horrible- but it is not spectacular either and it does have some quirks that are annoying… like locking up or delaying in between modes… If you go from the main screen to the qwerty text position it closes out & opens up again and then it is fine but it is still a delay and just downright annoying for the top dollar you spend to own this PDA.
I have had some other issues too but I think the most important thing that needs to be said is for the money… think blackberry instead…. My son got the Storm when I got the HTC Touch Pro. He says he LOVES the blackberry storm more and more every day! I wish I could say the same about my Touch Pro.
(
I’ve used a MotoQ with Windows Mobile for 2+ years, until it gave me a fatal “black screen of death” (bootloader flash mode”. The phone would not turn on, and Sprint can’t fix it. It was insured, but they were just going to replace it with another MotoQ. I was upgrade eligible so I decided not to get the free replacement and look into getting a new phone. I spent about 10 hours researching Sprint phones, and being that I text a lot, I needed a phone with a qwerty keypad. I went thru hundreds of positive reviews on the HTC Touch Pro, nothing but good things were being said about the phone. Apart from battery life complaints, I was pressed to find a single negative review until today, after I’ve already purchased the phone. Ain’t that something!
So I picked up the HTC TP from a Sprint store, and couldn’t wait to get home to play around with it. I gotta say, I am shocked at how poorly this phone performs. I’ve had this phone for less than 6 hours and its loaded with glitches and annoyances. Much of what I’m going to describe has already been mentioned by Brian Bernard and SHB but here’s my experience anyway:
1. Phone froze within first hour of use, only 3 phone calls and 5 text messages of use. Screen went totally black, would not respond to any buttons, even power off. Called the phone, i could hear it ring from the phone I was dialing with, but HTC TP did not respond to the call. Finally, only solution was hard reset (removed battery and powered back on).
2. Text messaging is a real pain. I see a text pop up on portrait view, I hit reply and switch to slide out qwerty, the message vanishes.
3. Sound quality is horrible. Audio on full, then it starts getting staticy. but this seems to be a common complaint.
4. Why have a back button if it doesn’t work? I am in contacts list, select a contact then want to go back to main contact list, however the back button takes me to “summary and notes” . I finally figured out you have to hit an obscure “ok” touch button on the to right hand corner to go back. That was confusing, because ok usually represents select, not go back.
5. While making a call, the battery level meter disappears.
6. Very sluggish, lag time between applications. Lag time between opening keyboard and switching to landscape view. Sometimes the screen just stays black for several seconds.
I’ll be returning this glitchy phone in exchange for something more stable. Overall rating: AVOID!
Chris,
Can you suggest me a good (not to expensive) blooth tooth piece to use with the Touch-Pro?
Thanks…Deniese
I don’t use Bluetooth headsets so I can’t really give a recommendation, sorry
Do not buy the HTC Touch Pro
I have been a Pocket PC user for at least 5 years. Here are the issues I have seen with the HTC.
1-screens keep disappearing or appearing spontaneously.
2- sometimes I can’t receive incoming calls because the type writer screen won’t go away and the phone button won’t work.
3- sometimes I try to text someone and my words end up going in the “To” line.
4-I can’t reply to texts without going through a number of steps.
5- the phone button works only sporadically.
6-I have been forced to shut off the notification function for all emails and texts because otherwise, it keeps notifying me non-stop of all the texts or emails I haven’t opened.
7- the battery dies by midday.
8- when putting a new number in contacts it requires that you type the contact name in two places and often the screen disapears in the middle forcing me to restart the process
9- call history is not the default screen so it requires additional steps for me to find numbers i just either called or received.
etc. etc etc…
I used my wife’s, PPC-6700 pocket pc this weekend. It may be big and clunky looking, but it works. It really reminded me of why I use a pocket pc in the first place. I miss having a device that responds well
Kraegg is spot on. I experienced nearly everything he itemized in his post with my HTC TP. One day I woke up to find the screen completely black and frozen, the white light around the clicker (btw, the clicker is useless in 90% of all apps) remained on. I didn’t even bother doing a hard reset, I went straight to the Sprint store and returned it. They replaced my Q under insurance and I will cancel the 2 year contract I just signed up for as it falls within the 30 days. What a headache!
I have had my Touch PRO Through Bell for the best 4 months now. I have only a few biffs with the product. Yes the “Answer call / Phone” button is a little iffy, but that really is it. I have no problems texting. I send normally 3500 for work / social every single bill and have no problems with that at all. You go into text / inbox, click text messages, click new, type name or portion click then enter or type full name and its perfect. It never types in my “to” field ever. Thats silly.
I am running SPB Mobile shell right now and it works like GOLD. TF3D was Okay for the time, but it lacked what i really needed… More of a Home screen. I Love this phone. Hands down Awesome in my head. I find nothing wrong with installing apps, with naving, with the internet… its all good. I would however chose the HD over this phone as i like the full screen a bit better but has no keyboard so they both have their advantages and Diss’. Its all about what u want. I wanted this phone because of the specs, options and so on. I bought it, and dont regret it at all. Plus Bell is stupid and i got the phone on a 2year for only 72.98$ supposed to be 300$ for a 2year… Stupid bell
So hey I’m thinking of buy this phone, well the Touch pro from Verizon, and am paying 249 and getting a free blue tooth headset. But What I really want to know is it worth the money? I’m going to use it for email and helping to run a small online business while going to school and how well is Verizon’s network for this kind of phone, is up to par? Oh and how well does the Excel work? I am so stoked about that!!!!
chris, i have the htc touch pro. love it! but cant the keyboard sensor light. does it a fuction where i can turn it off? i hate how the key keep going off. please help, i read the book twice.
thank you
Steve
Hi I’m thinking about getting the HTC TP… but after reading all the negative reviews I’m not sure. But…… a friend sent me these links. Check them out and see what you think…. It looks like there is some help for the battery problem, etc in the custom rom..

This is the worst phone I have ever owned. I got mine the day after Alltel added it to their own product line. All the time I am getting failed text messages, with good service, “full tower”. I click “Yes” to resending the failed message and the message pops up again and again, I click “no” and it sends the message 5 times to the receiving end. Recently, my keyboard just stopped working all together. And finally today, when everything piled up, I got so angry at the damn thing and slammed it against my desk, cracking the screen. There are several other bugs and annoyances with this piece of crap that you Will encounter, I suggest NOT buying one.
I do not have a comment but a question. I own a HTC Touch now, but i was wondering. Can the HTC Touch Pro send picture mail through text to another mobile device or do you still have to send it to an email address like the old HTC Touch?
You can send MMS with the touch pro. So, yes you can send picture mail through text. i ended up getting my mom’s touch pro as a replacement, and she got a blackberry curve, so i am still stuck with the same piece of crap. This time i am getting a hardshell case and insurance in case my frustration gets loose again.
my HTC touch pro died within 9 days, power button was way too touchy and didnt work half the time. the screen froze up many many times, battery life was horrible, it would be dead in a day with minimal usage. The screen went out, I restarted it, and now it powers up but the screen does not work at all. Can’t do a hard reset due to being unable to see screen. Do not recommend this phone unless someone feels like wasting a few hundred on something that had i not paid a lot for it, it would have been smashed on Interstate 90 doing 100 miles an hour
wow. i was all excited about buying this phone today. looked at all types of good reviews, and quite a few videos on youtube. i currently have the lg rumor…i love it, but just looking to get a more up-to-date touch phone. i’ve never had any problems with the rumor except pictures don’t always show on sites like myspace, and i can’t get youtube. but getting the touch pro now seems iffy. i use my phone for mostly calls, text, pictures and sites like facebook, and such. would it be worth it to try this phone out? can you customize the background colors so everything isn’t always black? basically can you turn it into a cute girly kinda fun phone?
I have a HTC touch pro.
I HATE IT!!!
The keyboard broke after a month, it sucks battery power like I have never seen, and it locks up a lot. I have to pull the battery out to get it to work again. Maybe I just got a bad phone.
I dont think it really matters. The keyboard feels like it would break over time anyways.
If the phone was cheaper, it may be a fair deal. At $350, they are out of their minds. This phone is not worth that. It seems like it will break over time too easily. Mine only lasted 1 month. I never dropped it or anything.
I had originally purchased the new Treo 850 for Windows 6.1 and ended up returning it after about a 15-day trial run. Everything that was too small, too slow, too difficult to read, too impossible to navigate or very badly engineered on the Treo 850 was immediately rectified without exception when I moved to the HTC Touch Pro. Why the Sprint sales staff pushes the Treo 850e over the HTC Touch Pro probably has to do with sales spiffs for them and not for ease of use for us. Sad but probably true. It costs only $100 more, but it is well worth it. You can operate the Touch Pro using just the keypad, the finger wheel and your thumb or index finger, I have yet to pull out that silly stylus for ANYTHING. The Treo always had this annoying habit of giving you 2 or 3 different mouse cursor styles depending where you are: The pointing arrow, the gloved hand and the highlighted pointers. HTC is more intuitive and uses various highlight methods exclusively. The HTC Touch Pro has a much larger visible viewing area, a much better screen resolution (640×480) vs. (320×320) better human engineering and flips automatically from horizontal to vertical using an internal gravity sensor. (Way Cool!) And the slide-out keypad on the Touch Pro is almost a perfect replication of a full QWERTY PC keyboard while the Treo 850e is primitive by comparison. And the keys on the HTC are actually useable, intuitive, large and very functional. It works the same for every application, every menu and every window. As for the Treo, you have to wrangle with workarounds for each application. The use of CapsLock and the Fn Key lock on the Touch Pro gives you ease of access to any ASCII character you want to use. The Treo 850e only gives you about 2/3 the number of useable ASCII characters as the Touch Pro. To summarize: The HTC Touch Pro was designed for visibility, functionality, ease of use, accessibility and speed of navigation. The Touch Pro was human engineered for a pleasant and non-combative experience. The Treo 850e produces eyestrain, finger pain, brain strain, thumbnutz and total frustration on almost every screen and menu choice. Tell Sprint to drop the spiffs on the Treo 850e and train their staff on the HTC Touch Pro. Life is better with an HTC Touch Pro.
just wait til it dies on ya Jim and youll sing a different tune
i have a 6700 ppc, i love it. but i think i need to upgrade and i have been thinking of going to the touch pro. what do you recommend?
can anyone that has the touch pro can you get animated picture to work you know pictures with movement don’t know what its called but I got a picture mail the other day and it was suppose to be a woman flashing me but instead it was just a picture of a woman. I had the htc mogul and I never had this problem is their something I can do to fix.
[...] The HTC Touch Pro and UK Network [...]
i bought the touch pro online but they gave me the italian version and ofcourse all text is in italian, i tried to call the store but they’re giving hard time… how can i change it to US version… does updating the ROM with US version can solve the problem?
I bought this phone thinking I had the best. The first month I used it I thought I just had to learn alot more to use it. I am now in the second month and I know now that I made a huge mistake. Battery life is awful and scrolling is terrible. The sad part is I did not find it out until to late that this phone is not the best.
I would never remend this to anyone.
I love my Touch Pro, but I have an issue with the keyboard. The keyboard stopped working the after one week of use. The phone was replaced and now 3 months later the keyboard has gone out on my 2nd phone. I will be taking it back on Monday. It is a shame because texting with the keyboard is such a breeze when it is working and I really do love this phone. The battery life is not good but becasue I have my computer on at my desk, I just leave it connected via the USB to keep it charged throughout the day since I like to watch Sprint TV during lunch and listen to the music I have downloaded during the work day. I also have a friend who has the phone, his went black the first week and was replaced and he has not had anymore problems & loves his as well. Everything has its flaws.
The only disagreement I have with the review is for battery life. My previous blackberry with the same use would last almost two days. Touchpro has trouble making it past 2pm.
I purchase the touch pro in December of last year. I sync the phone with my outlook and use it to keep track of my calendar, Email, task, and such. I used to utilize windows mobile platform to install program that I found usefull but have since given up on trying to run applications on the phone. Frankly, I can not understand why anyone could consider this phone a good buy. It is a piss poor attempt at best and the problem isn’t the hardware, I like the design, it is the software. I constantly have to completely re-sychronize the device with outlook as it seems to have issue, that means I have to constantly reset my Favorites People list. The Scrolling feature has two speeds go (at full speed) and select notice there is no stop extremely frustrating to have to search for each contact cause I got a lot of them. Battery life is horrid compared to the Iphone. It is so slow it is painful once the browser loads the down load speed improves but opening any application can take an excessive amount of time depending on how long it has been since the last reboot- which need to be done all the time due to constant freezing when opening applications! I take excellent care of the phone- purchased the Shield screen protector and exterior hard cover and had never dropped the phone. I called my provider and had them replace the phone with a new one not a refurbished on and I get the same results. Everyone who I know that has purchased this phone say the same thing. In my Humble opinion the phone is seriously over priced and under developed.
I have the HTC Touch Pro with the 3.2 mega pixel camera. I HATE it! My cellular store replaced my other HTC phone that always broke on me. Now this one is the 3rd one that has been replaced (touch pro alone), duto multiple issues…I would recommend that noone buy this phone, or you will be going thru the same issues that I have…screen going black, got new phone. Before that, keyboard wouldnt work..replaced it. Now Keyboard not working again!! I have received 3 different phones, with the same crap happening over and over! When it works, its great…but Im tired of wondering when its going to break.
Ive bought the Htc DIAMOND p3702 VICTOR in Taiwan last November2008, After I bought it I didnt use it right away, but after three months or four i start using it, but I am shocked with only a month time use it was dis aligned with no reason, Ive to sent it back to Taiwan for a repair, coz here in the Philippines they dont accept items bought outside the country , now im using it already, but have found out that the 3G FEATURES IS LOCKED NOT LIKE THE iPHONE ITS OPEN, Ive consulted the HTC Technician here , they told me to have it open By Taiwan Technician, why is it so complicated ? Ive have to go back all the way to have the 3G open? can You not just sent me a soft ware or anything or have instruction letter or requisition letter to authorized the technician here to open for me,? thank you so much to extend a helping hand for me so that i have a confidence in using this brand in the near future! hope to hear fro you soon! asap!
If you receive a lot of data the battery will go in 3 hours, it has happened to me several times. Also the phone locks up several times a week, the screen freezes and I have to take the battery out and reset. I was initially excited about this phone but after a few months it has been a huge let down. My sister also purchased on through another carrier and has the same issues. Stay away from this phone unless you can be close to a car or AC charger.
I’m very enthralled at the number or issues people are having with the HTC touch Pro. I’m a WiMo user(just to hacker friendly to not use). But I’m coming from a Nextel i920 which replaced my i930 when Sprint couldn’t offer an i930 due to it being out-of-stock. And I was very happy with my “Old skool” i920 which was an improvement over the 930 because it lacked the camera and had more memory due to the camera software being MIA(VGA camera was outdated any ways).
Well on my i920/930 I was running WiMo 2003 Smartphone with the SmartToolKit skin (Vista look and more desktopstyle start button). But that came to an end when my phone fell in cooler while plugged in and remained in Boot-loader mode. So it was time to collect on my Insurance from Sprint/Nextel. They couldn’t offer me another i920 or i930 and tried to give me a Blackberry which I didn’t want but would’ve taken if I could remain on my awesome SERO plan. ($30 for unlimited DATA, SMS, MMS, Sprint TV,& 500 anytime minutes w/ international calling/roaming(had GSM unlocked)Mobile-MobileSprint/Nextel and Nights&Weekends @7pm). But it would require me to switch to a Everything plan at twice the cost. So I said No. After jumping through automated hoops to find-out what Phones I could switch to without losing my SERO it was narrowed to any phone but a Blackberry or Palm Pre. So I could get a Palm-Os, WiMo or basic type phone(aka Non-smartphone). Well I decided it was time to treat myself and also take full advantage of my SERO plan by switching from Nextel to Sprint service, since they’d just would let me keep my plan.
I hopped on XDA-Forums and PPC-Geeks and viewed some of the Windows Mobile 6.5 Roms and decided an HTC Touch Pro was what I was looking for. I found a TouchPro on E-bay with a clean ESN for $135 shipped and asked Sprint to match the price. They refused and would only come down to $175 so I bought the one off e-bay.
I only had the stock Sprint Rom for about 2 minutes and have no idea as to how the phone performed with it. What I do know is I don’t know how the styli are falling out since it takes some force to disengage the magnet on mine and the keyboard doesn’t fell cheap like my my old Two-way pager which is still in good condition….LOL. I’m running MightyRom6 with Advanced Config 3.3 to enable more page&cahing, Arcsofft for MMS(Sprint Picture Mail is slower than USPS), Also I added Bing, Facebook App from Windows and did a few registry hacks (common WiMo basics to me, You buy WiMo for the potential not for how it runs outta the box). I did have issues with battery life but found it was the Sprint Radio software constantly looking for better reception and flashed a Verizon radio package on but I’m still using Sprint Service just now my phone is drawing so much power staying connected to the cell towers. Watching an hour of Youtube, listening to 3hrs of Music via Media Player, making maybe 8 5min calls, recieving and sending about 200 texts and surfing the internet for about 2hrs my phone will be near dead in 8-9hrs. (Which is about 4 times longer than my i920/930 would get, but the i920/930 was fully charged in 30minutes or less). But I don’t have Push e-mail setup and only retrieve e-mail manually or when I send obviously. I don’t use Bluetooth unless I’m beeming contacts or files, but I do take advantage of Remote Desktop and sending e-mails that way from my computer sitting at home…..hehehe. I also wirte about 1 to 2 excel or powerpoint files from my phone a week which ia freakin sweet.(With my i920/930 I was only able to view, not edit). I am so impressed with EVDO Rev. A. especially coming from Nextel’s crippled network. I enjoyed WiDEN for about 2 monthhs (48kbps) till Sprint reset the towers and I ha dto do with Opera Mini at 19kbps. So averaging 900kbps has been enlightening. The youtube player works fantastic, intial loading takes about 25seconds but then it’s cached into the phone and repeat playback is instant(3sec wait at max). I use 6.5′s today screen and slider-lock & slider answer/ignore so I don’t have any of the problem mentioned when my phone is in it’s hip pouch. I did purchase a $15 8GB micro-sd card , Seidio Innocase and Seidio Leather pouch/holster and am using the supplied OEM screen protector for external modifications. Only gripe is the Screen is a little small, but the display is vibrant.(May upgrade to the Touch Pro 2 since I still have my Sprint Credit) The internet is plentifast for me using Opera Mobile 9.7beta with Turbo, when iPhone junkies challenge for a page rendering race I cheat and use Opera Mobile which is like mobile internet on Crack with EVDO Rev.A.
As for the claim that there is no front camera that’s true on most units but the unlocked GSM Toch Pro has a front VGA camera and the TouchFlo interface worked much more smoothly than on my friend’s stock A&7T Fuze(Touch Pro=Fuze). But I thing the bugs/software issues lie in the specific carrier ROM’s hence why Chef’s cook their own ROM’s. Also some models come crippled like Verizon’s which uses an older chipset at the same clock-speed and has less on-board RAM.
Overall I’m very pleased with my phone, but it’s not for everyone. If your willing to take 8 hrs to do trial & error with the risk of “Bricking” your phone then Windows Mobile is for you. If you want something that just works with a good amount of features choose an iPhone. If you want to add some cool apps without bricking your phonew then Android or Palm-Os may be for you. But if a phone is giving you hardware issues like I was reading on here then I have no idea what to tell you. I feel this phone was built to better standards then my i920/930 but then again I don’t expect this phonw to withstand motorcycle wrecks like my Nextel’s did. This is after-all a Luxury Smartphone as HTC claims…….
I apologise for my mis-spellings in the above post, typing form Touch-Pro and HATE that spell check only works qith Pocket Explorer and not Opera.
But to add about the propietary connectors….standard mini-USB will connect just fine. The only specialised connectors that need to be mentioned are the mulit-split out, 3.5mm adapter, TV-out and RS-32.
best phone ive ever owned, easy to use, i honeslty rarely even sit at my actual computer anymore to use it, this phone does everything, people that dislike it or are having issues i work tech support so yes somethings will come all screwed up, but now the tp 2 is out and im thinking about moving up, also like stated above normal mini usv works, y’all just looking for any reason to put the phone down it looks like, my old 6700 charger works fine
i have had an htc touch pro for just under a year now. for anyone interested in buying this phone i recomend you not to waste your money when you can get something with better quality. The first problem i found was the screen quickly scratched from the provided stylus. now thinking that this pen is provided for the phone, you’d expect it not to scratch, right? thats what i thought too. The phone’s response time started out quickly, but i found it started to take a really long time to respond to my actions when i would touch the messages button and etc. today, the touch pro suddenly stopped showing images.. thus giving me a useless phone. now im sitting here with a waste of money in my hands and without out a phone. it is definitly not a reliable phone.
hello. would like to kno if this fone has a a good battery life for ppl who txt ALOT. dont need to talk alot on the fone but i txt from like 6 am to like 10. like this fone alot. but idnt kno if its rite for me. i used the HTC Diamond for 3 weeks. 3 words: EXTREMELY SUCKY BATTERY LIFE!!!
please respond ASAP my upgrade is soon. THANX
4 Touch Pro’s – and about to aquire a 5th. Now lets not get any notions that I’m stockpiling. I wish. Rather, they are replacements. The keyboard on the Sprint Touch Pro series is subject to failure. The initial symptoms are increased freezeups requiring a soft reset. Then typing becomes a chore as multiple characters/spaces magically get interjected in whatever you’re typing. Soon after this, the keyboard light will fail to illuminate and the keyboard fails. For a few tries, a soft reset fixes the issue. But eventually even that won’t work. I’ve hard-reset and reflashed, to no avail. The only resolution is a replacement, and the associated wait time.
Want to trow my htc touch pro 2 out of my window verry slow phone htc is shit
i mean pro
I’ve avoided these smartphones for long enough because they lack two features I need. Does this one have them?
Q1 can you copy and paste things like text?
Q2 This has Opera browser. I need IE ver 6 or newer to remotely control workstations. 640 x 480 would be minimum resolution. Can this HTC handle?
I realize what I really want is a mini PC but netbooks don’t cut it and I don’t want to carry a phone and a PDA/PIM type tool.
Comments please.
Q1 – You can copy and paste pretty much anywhere one Windows Mobile
Q2 – IE is still Pocket IE. The Touch Pro isn’t getting the 6.5 upgrade that included IE 6, you be better looking at the Touch Pro2 for that.
I need to know why I do not receive phone call. All call go to voice mail.
I have a HTC Touch Pro through sprint and I’m having a problem when receiving pics through MMS. The pics that i’m receiving now through MMS are being compressed very small now when i download it. Is there away to disable the compression on the file.
I was able to review the same pic before on my phone with a bigger file now its automatically compression the picture and i hate it..
Please help thanks
HTC Touch Pro is a joke. My HTC Mogul quit working after a year’s worth of light use in August 2009. I stupidly chose to upgrade to the HTC Touch Pro. The first one I had, the keyboard quit working with 6 weeks (unfortunately for me, not in Sprint’s 30 trade in period!). I had also had issues with the screen freezing off and on, and not being able to answer calls half the time. Don’t even get me started on the camera lag, the not being able to hear who is calling me due to poor ear speaker, etc, etc.
So, I called Sprint, and they replaced it with a “refurbished” model. No battery included, just a phone in a bag in a UPS box. I got my number transferred over to it, got all my info transferred over to the “new” Touch Pro. Within two hours, the phone locked down – completely froze. Tried soft reset – NOTHING. Took the battery out for a few minutes. Resolved the issue temporarily. Within an hour it had done it again. By the sixth lock down in less than 24 hours, the phone stayed that way for 2 hours straight. As I type this, two days in to having the phone, I am now up to eleven different times this phone has froze up.
I called Sprint, asked them to please replace this piece of crap. They so nicely offered to replace it with yet another HTC Touch Pro. I asked them if it was at all possible to replace it with a comparable phone from another manufacturer. The answer? NO. It seems it is their policy that they have to replace a phone at least THREE seperate times before they will even consider replacing it with another brand. So, I wrote to every executive e-mail address I could find. I was finally contacted by a “V.I.P. Analyst” with
“Sprint Executive & Regulatory Services” through my e-mail. She told my wife she’s been leaving me voicemails on my phone. Funny, I don’t even show a missed call on the phone. Unknown as to the voicemails, because the phone won’t unfreeze for long enough for me to check them!
Anyway, my wife explained that I was totally unsatisfied by the Touch Pro, and again asked for it to be replaced with a comparable phone from a different brand, as I need a phone that is reliable for business use. Amazingly, she was told no. She explained, again, that we have been with Sprint for five years, and carry five lines with them, spending an average amount of $4200 a year on their services alone. She told her she could “understand your frustration, but the contract you “signed” says that they are only a service provider and are in no way responsible for the devices.” The best they can do is replace it with another Touch Pro, as they have no record of having problems with this device. My wife told her to check some of the internet forums and tech reviews. The response? She can “appreciate that people are blogging about it, but again, Sprint has no known issues with this particular device.” Funny, I can read through this one site alone and see that SEVERAL Sprint customers have issues with the Touch Pro.
I’m still trying to get something done through Sprint, as overall, they are a great company to be with. I just can’t believe they would be willing to lose a five year customer over a piece of crap like the Touch Pro!
My recommendation on the HTC Touch Pro? STAY AWAY, STAY VERY FAR AWAY!!!
Get away from HTC pro. It freezes all the time just like windows boxes and u need to soft reboot it as the switch button does not work. It can be very frustrating When you expect a call, and u just realise that your phone has switched off … by itself for unknown reason. When you pick up a call, beware not to end it accidentally as your cheek touches the end button on the screen. Its heavy, a nightmare to unlock it if you password protect it. The list of issues I am having with it is endless .
The HTC touch pro is a terrible phone. I had one for about 8 months and i could barely use it. the touch screen becomes extremely non responsive in a very short amount of time which makes it almost impossible to use. i have missed one too many phone calls because of it. i recently got a new one because of the warranty i bought with the phone, that was 2 weeks ago and im already starting to notice a big decrease in processing speed. ITS RIDICULOUS. aesthetically, the phone is a 10, functionally, the phone is a 2 (at best).
Please do not by this phone, buy a blackberry or an iphone. trust me. Anyone on this forum who says that they genuinely enjoy this phone has probably only been using it for under a week. Again, do not buy this phone, do not buy this phone.
Hi,
Please help. All the other phones I have had or do have, the old Jas Jar, The Nokia E90, the Samsung Omnia etc enable one to record a telephonic conversation.
For some reason HTC screwed up ( or did the right thing, depending on which was you look at it) on the TouchPro 2 and the other persons voice is very faint.
Can anyone tell me how to make the voice louder
I hate the HTC Pro 2!!!! The notifications screen pops open when you are on a call so in order to hang up you have to clear the notifications to get back to the phone button. The phone freezes and won’t hard reset until the battery drains. I updated the version of windows and it is not any better. I hate this phone. I’m taking it back to sprint.
hayy can you guys help me?? my htc problem just the switch off matter always appear even i don’t touch it the button
( how can i fix it??? help me up…thanks so much!!
I have a touch pro 2 .. I HATE IT SO MUCH !
the battery life is terrible . i can charge it from 10pm to when i wake up , which is usually around 8 , and it has trouble staying alive until 3pm .
also , the lock button is broken , so when i lock the screen and it goes black , it won’t unlock again . occasionally it will decide to work again , but then it breaks a little while after . so every time i lock it or accidentally lock it , i have to take out the battery and restart the phone .
also , it freezes up so much its not even funny .. i hate it !
another thing is i can’t picture message to another phone ! it pisses me off ! i cant receive picture messages either ! when someone picture messages me it gives me this message “you have received a picture message , go to telusmobility.com/snap to view .” and i dont know the password , but when i texts it to my phone , it never comes ! so not only can i not picture message , but i cant see mine either !
DO NOT GET THIS PHONE ! it’s awful !
ps. my telus mobility store doesn’t even sell the phone anymore because it’s so terrible!
